Work undertaken by Peter Burman includes:

  • researching and writing Conservation or Management Plans
  • advising on Collections Care including Archives
  • advising on commissioning of works of art and fine craftsmanship for (i) cathedrals and churches; (ii) country houses, their designed landscapes and gardens; (iii) World Heritage Sites; (iv) urban public spaces
  • advising on the conservation of sculpture in stones and metals and on historic stone structures.

Current or recent clients include: the Duke of Buccleuch at Boughton House; Royal Company of Archers, Conservation Statement; Lincoln Cathedral, major commissions for sculpture and furniture as Arts & Heritage Adviser 2008-2018; St Paul’s Cathedral, originator of the Sir Winston Churchill Memorial Screen; Burrell Collection in Glasgow – organisation and facilitation of a series of seminars to achieve better understanding of Sir William Burrell’s intentions, and to inform future planning following major repairs.
